Busireddy Shankar Reddy is born in Nagineniprolu Village in Khammam District and comes from a family of Freedom Fighters. He is an Agriculturist and has dedicated his life to Social Work and Politics and he was associated with the Congress Party since 1981. He held many leadership positions from very young age becoming Chairman of his junior college student union. Subsequently he entered into arena of active politics and served many positions in NSUI, Youth Congress and the Congress Party while participating in many agitations and social movements on numerous public issues including the agitation for separate Telangana. His long political career has witnessed many special activities undertaken by him, including Congress Prajahita Yojana in 2004, Polavaram Prajahita Chaitanya Yatra 2007, Maro Praja Prastanam 2008 and Gandhi Padham a program designed to induce Gadhian values amongst grass root population.

Rotarian Shankar Reddy has been a member of Rotary Club of Bhadrachalam since 1991 and served as its president during the year 2001-02. He has held many positions in the Rotary District 3150 including District Pulse Polio Coordinator, Assistant Governor and District Chairman. He is elected as the District Governor 3150 for the year 2023-24. Rotarian Shankar Reddy has initiated a number of community service projects under his leadership and the support of the District 3150. Some of them include a unique irrigation project with a budget of one crore to treat effluent waste water benefitting many formers, providing drinking water scheme to an entire village “EERAVANDI” benefitting a population of over 5000 people. He was instrumental in providing physio and voice therapy equipment to BRUSH School, a school for specially abled in Bhadrachalam and providing sanitary facilities in 8 schools in Burgampahad mandal. Low cost toilets and bathroom facilities to poor people. 150 drinking water borewells surrounding Bhadrachalam and Burgampahad areas. Rupees 5 lakhs fund raised for Bhadrachalam Degree College for additional sections.  And with his own expenditure he has constructed and donated a canteen building in Government Degree College.

Rotarian Shankar Reddy was also instrumental in sponsoring a new Rotary Clubs in Manuguru, Yellandu, and also a corporate club in ITC PSPD. Some of the positions he holds include General Secretary- Khammam District Congress Committee since 1996. Director Community Services Rotary International District 3150. Vice President AIPSO – Andhra Pradesh State. Secretary CPDC Government College and PG College Bhadrachalam. Rotarian Shankar Reddy is married to Annapurna. His son Nagarjuna Reddy is a graduate in Engineering working in Hyderabad and his daughter Shravani also is a graduate in Engineering and is married to an NRI.
