Kargil Vijay Diwas

On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas and the death anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, the Rotary Club of Martur today organized a felicitation program for soldiers at effort office, Martur. A colonel level officer participated as the chief guest in this program and 11 soldiers also participated. Out of the 11 sepoys, one sepoy lost his arm in Kargil war. Bogineni Muralikrishna, a sepoy, lost his left arm in the Kargil War. Muralikrishnagaru said that there is no question of leaving the enemy in those situations even if it is not the hand but the life that has brought tears to everyones eyes. Ganga Satish Garu, who worked as a colonel, said that God has saved us three times and when the war comes, it is our responsibility to save the country at the risk of our lives. All the sepoys shared their emotions with the Rotary members President Talluri Sambasiva Rao said that the backbone of the country is the farmer but the backbone of the countrys defense is the soldiers. Talking about the inhuman and barbaric act that took place in Manipur, it was questioned whether the central government is at least ashamed of the state governments to parade women naked. He strongly condemned this incident on behalf of the Rotary Club of Marthuru. He emphasized that the governments should take steps to prevent such incidents from happening again. Soldiers Bodavula Hanumantha Rao, Cherukuri Anjibabu, Elineni Hanumantha Rao, Battula Venkatrao, Battula Rama Rao, Nallamaddi Narayana, Bandaru Lukaiah, Bandaru Mohana Rao, Nukatoti Elisha, Battula Subbarao and 25 rotarians participated.
